I have been teaching professionally since 2005, and have been teaching English since 2011. I have 3 TESOL certificates and I teach both children and adults specializing in Conversational English, Speech and TOIEC preparation.

I graduated from University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor degree in Anthropology. I have taught English at the High School Level in South Korea for 1 year as well as private tutoring for a little over 2 years.

I specialize in conversational English. I do this through confidence building in speaking about both familiar and unfamiliar topics. I feel that communication and confidence in speaking is often forgotten or lacking in traditional classroom environments, so I focus on creating a natural and native speaking enviroment that is safe for my students to make mistakes and learn in order to build their confidence.

I became a teacher because I love teaching. I am a ski coach, a taekwondo coach, as well as an English teacher. My approach to teaching is creating a natural speaking environment that is as close to what you will experience in an English speaking country. I have TESOL certifications in Business, Children, and Advanced English. I have taught students one on one from all over the world as well as spent a year in South Korea teaching middle and high school aged students that ranged in ability from beginner to advanced.

I love reading and writing, sports such as skiing, volleyball, and taekwondo, and being with family and friends. I feel that by teaching English I can help to make a difference in the world by sharing culture and understanding with my students.

My personal motto is: “When one door closes, a window opens. If the window doesn’t open, throw a rock through it and make your own opportunity.”
